Wall Street held on to most of its gains today after the Federal Reserve kept short-term interest rates at current levels.

DAY IN REVIEW

Wall Street held on to most of its gains today after the Federal Reserve kept short-term interest rates at current levels. They did leave the door open for additional rate hikes but market attitude is, we’ll burn that bridge when we get to it. Good new from Oracle and Morgan Stanley helped fuel today’s gains.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 72 points, or 0.6%, to 11,613 and is closing on its all-time high reached in January 2000. The S&P 500 added 0.5%, to 1325, and was at its best level in five years. The Nasdaq Composite surged 1.4%, to 2253.

WINNERS

HIGH END VENTURES (HEND) was up $3.95, or 376.19% to close the day at $ 5.000.

PLATINA ENERGY GROUP (PLTG) reached its highest levels since December of 2005 as the stock doubled, up 114.29% closing the day at $ 0.15.

MEGADATA CORP (MDTA) was up 94.44% closing the day at $3.50. This price surge has been fueled by buyer demands since last weeks announcement that US Airways had selected their Passur Product to be implemented in multiple locations.

DERMISONICS INC. (DMSI) was up $ 0.165, or 80.49% to close the day at $ 0.370. DMSI snowballed on yesterdays 53% gain over an announcement that the company has made major steps forward in achieving FDA approval on an injection-free transdermal patch for Type-2 diabetes.

SEARCHLIGHT MINERALS (SRCH) gained 42.01% today to close out at $ 2.400.
The company today released positive results from a Chain of Custody analysis on its Clarkdale Slage Project in Clarkdale, Arizona. [Read More]


LOSERS

URANIUM RESOURCES (URRE) continued its downtrend losing 54.81% to close at $1.83. Investors are really giving up on this one after today’s announcement of further drilling problems on its South Texas property. The problems started in July of this year and investors were really hoping todays announcement would have been one of resolution. [Read More]

After weeks of steady gains NANOBAC PHARMACEUTICALS (NNBP) shareholders finally deceided to take some gains off the table. The stock was down 34.29% closing the day at $ 0.230.

CHINA NORTH EAST PETROLEUM (CNEH) has been very volatile as of late, a lot of vertical movement from this one over the last two weeks. CNEH gave up much more than yesterday’s gains today as it dropped 41.86% to close at $.250.

BROADVIEW INSTITUTE (BVII) was up 26.32% to close the day at $1.4
BVII just had a report on operations released including a financial summary and 3 year outlook.

LATE DAY DEVELOPMENTS

MGN Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB) announced that progress is being made in their effort to joint venture with a Nevada-based casino company.
Mobile Gaming Now has taken the unique approach of working within established legal guidelines within the North American market for Internet marketing and gaming. By establishing relationships with the casinos, the company will be poised to launch real gambling when, and if, the North American regulations change. [Read More]

Lucas Energy, Inc. (OTCBB) announced its acquisition of two oil and gas properties covering 127 acres: the Zavadil and the Canion Unit, located in Gonzales County, Texas. The leases contain two shut in wellbores that reach the Austin Chalk formation.
